Your Robin Home system can be controlled through our mobile applications:
The mobile app allows you to control your security sensors, home automation devices, user preferences and push notifications.
Your installer will create an account for you when they setup your Robin Home system. As part of this process, you'll receive an SMS containing a link to download the app. Alternatively, you can download the app through the links below:
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eightdevelopment.eas.android
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/nz/app/robin-home/id1232096070
Your Home System can either be Disarmed, Armed, Sleep Armed or in an Alarm state. The status is shown on the system status circle on the main security screen.
Tap the system status circle to Arm or Disarm the system. The circle will indicate the action it will perform when tapped.
Alternatively, you can press and hold on the system status circle for 2 seconds to activate the slider to chose which state to put the Home System into.
If your panel is configured for two areas, you can control the state of each area separately (as above) or change the state of both areas at the same time. To change the state of both areas, press the connector that appears between the two arm/disarm circles. This will active the slider to control both areas.
If both areas are in different states the slider will show the state of the area that is armed.
System States | Description |
---|---|
Disarmed | System status circle = Green |
Full Armed | System status circle = Red |
Sleep Arm |
System status circle = Blue Pressing and holding the system status circle will activate the slider, where you can put the system into Sleep Arm mode. When in Sleep Mode, you can walk freely around your home but activating an external door sensor will trigger the Alarm. |
Panic Button | Shown when the system is Armed, Disarmed or Sleep Armed. This will trigger the alarm and send a response to all other users of the system’s mobile phone, and also your monitoring station (if configured by your technician). |
Each element in this section relates to a physical sensor device connected to your Home System. Each sensor has a name, an icon to indicate the type of sensor and its state. These settings can be configured by your installation technician.
Sensor State | Description |
---|---|
OK or CLOSED | The sensor is not currently triggered. If the sensor is a PIR sensor, no one is standing in its view. If it’s a door or window sensor, that door or window is closed. |
OPEN | The sensor is currently triggered. If the sensor is a PIR sensor, it can sense someone in its view. If it’s a door or window sensor, that door or window is open. |
TROUBLE | The sensor has a problem but is still operational. Tap the sensor for more information on the specific problem. It might indicate the sensor batteries require replacement or its not mounted correctly. |
FAULT | The sensor has a major problem and the Home System cannot communicate with the sensor. Please contact your technician immediately to resolve the fault. |
A sensor with an inbuilt camera will have a camera icon displayed: (x) You can tap the sensor and view current and previously recorded footage from these sensors.
You can view additional information about your device, and edit some of the details, by tapping and holding on the sensor badge. This will activate the Device Details.
Edit Sensor Details: You can change the name of the sensor and the icon associated to it. Any changes you make on this screen will be visible to all users assigned to your Home system. When you’re done, swipe down from the top of the screen to save your changes and exit this screen.
View Battery and Signal Strength: The Device Details screen also reports the battery and signal strength for your zigbee and wireless devices. (This information is not applicable to IP cameras.)
Disable/Enable device: You can also disable or enable the sensor from the arming sequence. When you disable a sensor it will still be included in the arming sequence, however it will not activate the alarm if that sensor is triggered. When you enable a sensor, it will activate the alarm if triggered. (This feature is not applicable to IP Cameras.)
This shows the last 3 months of all security related events reported by your Home System previously, like when a user got home, left the hour or when the system goes into Alarm.
An event triggered by a sensor with an inbuilt camera will have a camera icon displayed: (x) You can tap the sensor and view the footage recorded at the time the event occurred.
Home automation devices are located under the Devices tab. Each device has a name, an icon to indicate the type of device and its state. Devices can be configured by your installation technician.

A device’s state can be:
ON or OFF
LOCKED or UNLOCKED
0%-100%
You can specify the level of added security you would like to use to confirm your identify when you disarm your Robin System. The options are:
Disarm Security Level | Description |
---|---|
No Authentication | With no authentication, you disarm your Robin System simply by tapping the red disarm circle. This is a convenient way to disarm your home system if your phone already uses a code or fingerprint to unlock. However, anyone with access to your unlocked mobile phone can disarm your Robin System. |
Fingerprint Authentication |
Fingerprint authentication is available in both the Android and iOS apps. It uses the fingerprint/s you’ve setup on your mobile device. If you’ve selected Fingerprint ID as your disarm level, you’ll be asked to present your fingerprint when you disarm your Robin System. If Fingerprint ID is selected as your disarm security level but is disabled in your device settings, your Robin app will default to No Authentication. If your mobile device doesn’t support fingerprint ID, you won’t be able to select this option. |
Face ID |
Face ID is available in the iOS app if this feature is supported by your mobile device. If Face ID is selected as your disarm security level but is disabled in your device settings, your Robin app will default to No Authentication. If your mobile device doesn’t support Face ID, you won’t be able to select this option. |
PIN Code |
You’ll be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN code each time you disarm your Robin System. This PIN code is unique to you and is the code you created when you set up your Robin Systems account. If you have access to multiple Robin Systems, you may have a different PIN code for each system. You may also be asked to re-enter your PIN code if you haven’t used your Robin System app for some time. If you forget your PIN code, you can reset your pin on the Settings page of this app. |
This is the 4-digit PIN code you use to disarm your Home System. This PIN code is unique to you and is used when disarming with this mobile app (when PIN Code disarming is selected as the Disarm Security level), and also when disarming the system on a keypad device within the home.
If you have two areas setup in your home, you will have a single PIN code which controls both areas.
If you cannot remember your existing PIN code, you can change this through your app settings. To change the PIN code you must enter your password first to verify who you are.
Your password is used to login to your Robin Home account on the iOS and Android mobile applications. If you’ve enabled Automatic Login you don’t need to enter your password each time you launch the app.
If you change your password, you’ll need to enter your new password when you next logout and launch the app.
If you forget your password, you can use the Forgot Password feature on the login screen. Alternatively, you can ask your Master User to reset your password for you through the mobile application.
Your mobile number is used for receiving various notifications, including verification codes and security event notifications. We recommend keeping your mobile number up-to-date so you can receive these messages.
